The Artist Behind the Lens

Long before I ever picked up a camera, I was an artist.

I've been creating since I was a little girl. In high school, my artistic focus was charcoal portraiture. I was drawn to faces, to expressions, to the unique beauty and character of the people I was drawing.

Looking back, it seems only natural that my love of art would eventually find its way into photography.

I've always had what some people call the eye. An instinct for what is aesthetically beautiful. An appreciation for composition, emotion, and those little details that can turn an ordinary image into something meaningful.

But I believe the way I see the world has just as much to do with the person I am as it does with the artist I've always been.

Gratitude is a big part of my life. I make a conscious effort every day to appreciate the little things, to recognize the beauty in simplicity, and to never take life's blessings for granted.

And I truly am blessed.

I have an incredible family, a wonderful and supportive husband, two grown children, a beautiful five-year-old daughter, and an amazing tribe of people who fill my life with love.

Having a little one in my life again has been a beautiful reminder of just how extraordinary the simplest things can be. Through her eyes, I'm reminded to slow down, to notice, to appreciate, and to find wonder in the everyday.

I think that's what makes photography so special to me.

Life is made up of moments. Some are grand and unforgettable, while others are quiet and fleeting. But they all become part of our story.

As an artist, I want to capture the beauty of those moments. As a person, I want to be fully present for them.

When I'm behind my camera, I'm not simply looking for a photograph. I'm looking for the feeling, the connection, the little piece of beauty that makes that moment worth remembering.

Because I've learned that beauty isn't always about what's in front of you.

Sometimes, it’s simply about the way you choose to see it.
